Entwined: Essays on Polyamory and Creating Home
by Alex Alberto
In these essays, Alex attempts to build two committed relationships at once when no one involved has done it before; develops a powerful bond with the woman their partner loves; sits through a tense Thanksgiving Dinner with religious in-laws; questions the need for rules and hierarchy in their relationships; experiences the intensity of a triad; wrestles with the fragility baked into the nuclear family after their father’s stroke; and explores their queerness and gender identity in English, in New York, while struggling to reconcile their newfound self in their native French-Canadian language and culture.
Entwined explores the fuzzy lines between friendship, romance, and family with various essay forms, including a play, an advice column, and a love letter. Rather than wallowing in the throes of jealousy, this collection celebrates the hard work of creating a love life that resists conventional narratives.

Will I Ever Have Sex Again
by Sofie Hagen
Comedian Sofie Hagen has not had sex in 3,000 days (and counting). And it turns out, she's not the only one . . .
In an attempt to find out why we're not having the sex we want, Sofie asks the questions: can we blame a lacking sex education? Is it all just sexual trauma? Where's the radical sexual liberation we were promised? What are we going to do about this? Should she have slept with that guy in that bush that one time? How do you overcome being a 35-year-old virgin (when it comes to queer sex, that is)? How do the socially awkward and the neurodiverse have sex?
In Will I Ever Have Sex Again?, Sofie Hagen explores the quirks and difficulties of being an 'involuntary celibate' (but one of the feminist, progressive ones). With a blend of memoir and conversations with experts, therapists, sex workers, porn stars, comedians and public figures, this is a humorous and bold undertaking to gain a better understanding of how we can think, talk and feel about sex.

FAQs
Who is the sex-ed book club for?
The sex-ed book club is for anyone who wants to understand sex and sexuality on a deeper level and who enjoys getting curious about bodies, desire, arousal, relationship dynamics, sexual communication, anatomy, orgasms, pleasure and more! We will explore a wide range of topics so get your highlighters and pens ready to mark up those books and geek out.
Is this for sex therapists and Educators Exclusively?
We have sex therapists and educators who attend and are wonderful additions to the discussion, but this book club is not exclusively for sexuality professionals.
Are Cisgender men allowed to participate?
In order to create the most comfortable environment possible and due to the sensitive nature of the content, The Sex Ed Book Club is closed to cisgender men at this time. This is an LGBTQIA+ friendly space and all sexual identities will be welcomed and celebrated.
I didn’t read the book/didn’t finish the book. Can I still come?
Yep, Absolutely! Of course you’re going to get more from book club if you read and finish the book, but sometimes life happens and your executive functioning and motivation is lacking. I get it. Regardless of whether or not you’ve read or finished the book, I feel confident you’ll still get something worthwhile out of attending book club. I anticipate we’ll use topics in the book as conversation starting points and go from there, so please join !
I’ve already read the book. Is it worthwhile to attend?
YES YES YES! The goal of this book club is to be in conversation with one another and create a supportive, inclusive space to learn. If you’ve already read the book, I especially want you in book club because you’ll have unique insights that come from from having ample time to process the content. Bonus points if you read the book again!
What Can I expect?
You can expect a warm and welcoming environment with casual yet structured group conversations. Book clubs will last about an hour and will be hosted virtually on zoom. You can choose to be on camera or not and you can contribute or just listen. Of course, I want everyone to feel comfortable and share their thoughts and questions, but I understand that sometimes that’s difficult for a variety of reasons.
Do I have to register for every month if I bought the annual pass?
No. When you purchase the annual pass you’re automatically added to the list for all future book club meetings through 2024. You’ll be sent the ZOOM link 24 hours before we meet each month.
